Drama engulfed Nyangusu primary school in Nyamache sub-county following an alleged forceful transfer of an English teacher contrary to the expectations of pupils and parents.

Trouble started when a section of the parents arrived in the school compound and disrupted learning activities, accusing the school head, Dominic Ombagi, of forcing one Mr Christopher Nyambune out of the institution for allegedly being critical of his leadership.

Speaking to HiviSasa.com on Tuesday, area parents accused the school head of intimidating his critics by colluding with education officers to transfer them.

“This head master is tyrannical and his antics will literally come to an end today. He has transferred a number of teachers from this institution for being critical of his administration. We will not allow him to continue with his habit and that is why we need our teacher back,” said Mr Gideon Ogato.

They urged Ministry of Education to investigate the conduct of the school head besides calling for his immediate transfer from the institution for gross misconduct.

“He has acted contrary to our expectations and we will no more take it from him. The ministry should chip in and help us tame him. If that isn’t done soon, there will be no rest from us. We have a right to open and good leadership,” added Mr Cornelius Ondigi.

However, Mr Ombagi dismissed the claims as ‘malicious’ and urged parents to follow legal procedures without necessarily interfering with learning in the institution.

“This is pure malice towards me. I am not in charge of transferring people. They should have directed the claim to the Ministry. I want peace for me and good learning environment for children,” he said.
