A former MP now serving as a member of East African parliament on an ODM appointment may find it difficult to hold his seat due to his alleged collaboration with the Jubilee government.
Mr Joseph Kiangoi, a former North Mugirango MP, is said to be working closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta to popularise the newly formed Jubilee Alliance Party, a move that has not gone well with Orange supporters.
Speaking on Thursday during a funeral ceremony, West Mugirango legislator Dr James Gesami called for the resignation of Mr Kiangoi, besides hinting of a possible ouster.
“Some people are taking our party for granted. ODM is for loyal members and whoever thinks can go contrary to our beliefs is mistaken. We are going to unleash even before the top office does so. Mr Kiangoi should know that the party belongs to the people,” he said.
Gesami accused the former legislator of allegedly betraying the party leader and vowed to push the ouster plot till it succeeds.
“This is a big letdown to Mr (Raila) Odinga after bestowing trust to someone. We are going to deal with him till he relinquishes the seat to people who are ready to work with the party,” he added.
Efforts to reach Mr Kangoi for comment were futile since he could neither answer calls or text messages throughout the day.
