Candidates ready to contest for various ODM party officials have been promised of free and fair elections in the coming polls, a senior official has promised.

Speaking in his Kitutu Masaba constituency on Tuesday, area MP Timothy Bosire, who also acts as the party’s national treasurer, urged members who were ready to challenge him for chairperson to tender their application since he was not destined to be chairman in the county forever.

Mr Bosire urged veteran party officials to pave way for young leadership besides promoting the party’s interests at the grassroots level.

“Elections are always free and fair and that is what the party stands for. What is important is to accommodate everyone and especially the youth. Those accusing me of dictating voting patterns should carry out their campaigns and let members decide their destiny,” he said.

The veteran ODM member urged the party to accommodate party rebels and those who have been in and out of the party for the sake of promoting and getting more members to the party.

“We should operate on the slogan gather all scatter none and that is the way forward. I really feel that the party is very strong and all we need is to improve our structures,” he added.

Bosire would be likely to face his ODM perennial competitor and West Mugirango MP James Gesami for the party membership.
