Over 100 women in Juja on Thursday joined hands to fight alcoholism and drug abuse among youth.
Among activities the women will indulge in, will include educating youth the dangers of alcoholism and drug use.
They will also champion the arrest and prosecution of drug peddlers they said.
Speaking at an event convened to campaign against drug abuse at Desai in Juja, the group's chairperson, Florence Kimani said cases of drug and alcohol consumption in Juja were on the rise despite spirited efforts to control consumption.
She said the future of the next generation was at risk if nothing was done to contain drug abuse.
Ms Kimani said more women will be recruited to join the campaign.
She said the group targets at over 500 youth in the start of the campaign.
"We want our sons to be productive people in the society and not drug addicts," she said.
Speaking after the meeting, a member Dinnah Wang'ombe said some youth were at risk of becoming criminals through drug abuse.
