Juja legislator Francis Munyua has blamed parents for the lapse of discipline in schools.

The MP said that parents have failed to instill discipline in their children and have left the responsibility to teachers.

Speaking in Juja on Wednesday, Munyua said parents ought to think hard about their children before committing themselves to serious business and spending less time their families

He said the behavior that was witnessed in Kirinyaga was just a hint of what happens as there is still more out there that parents are not aware of despite their commitment to pay school fees.

The MP said discipline cannot be instilled by only teacher as the teachers are only responsible for the students when they are within the school premise.

He faulted parents for blaming teachers for lack of indiscipline in children.

He asked parents to stand up and take up the responsibilities bestowed unto them in a bid to save the future generation from engaging in prostitution and drug abuse.

“Parents should take up the responsibilities that we have towards our children because if we don't save them, they will fall deeper into drug abuse and prostitution. Who are we going to leave these seats for if we don't save them?” asked Munyua
