Speaking in his office on Monday, Hassan said that children under the age of eighteen years are loitering aimlessly in town till late in the night, and indulging in unacceptable behaviours such as consumption of alcohol.

"I have received reports that there are school going children loitering in Eldroret town who are indulging in alcohol consumption and all sorts of drugs in certain clubs in town, and yet they are students. I give a stern warning to such individuals that my officers will be coming for you. I also warn bar owners that they risk their licences if they allow underage children in their premises," he said.

He reiterated that such cases have increased due to to the carelessness of parents who give their children a lot of pocket money, not putting in mind what they will be doing with it.

"I give a stern warning to parents whose children are walking aimlessly in town and involved in criminals acts that their days are numbered since i will arrest the students plus their parents for failing to take care of their children," he added.

He urged parents to be the watchdogs to their children, and urged them not to assume that they are well, and instead ask of their whereabouts.
