Police in Nakuru on Monday arrested a suspected gangster and recovered a home-made gun and several rounds of ammunition.
Two of the suspect’s accomplices escaped after their attempt to rob a bank along Nakuru town’s Kenyatta Avenue was foiled.
Confirming the arrest, Nakuru police boss Bernard Kioko said they received a tip off from members of the public that led to the arrest.
“We acted swiftly and managed to seize the home-made gun, handcuffs and 10 bullets. We are following some clues to pursue the two who escaped,” he said.
Kioko urged the public to continue working with the police by providing information to fight crime.
