Police in Maseno are investigating two cases of robbery that took place on Thursday and Friday nights.
In the incidents, Mark Omollo whose shop was broken into on Thursday night said that the robbery took place during the rainy part of the night.
“The raiders made away with my radio, two hair clippers and three phones that had been brought for charging," he said.
Mr Omollo told this reporter that he did not hear any commotion from his shop as his house is just a few meters away from the shop.
“I think the robbers took advantage of the rain, I did not hear them break the door,” he explained.
In another separate burglary, Doreen Omondi’s store was broken into on Friday night during the rains.
The invaders made away with ten pieces of iron sheets meant to roof her son’s house.
“I have reported the incident to the police and I hope these unruly thugs will be nabbed very soon," she said.
Maseno OCPD Peter Omanwa said that his officers were investigating the incidents and very soon the culprits involved will be brought to book and face the full brunt of the law.
He also said he is going to ensure that police increase patrols during the nights.
He however advised the members of the public to keep vigil during this rainy season especially during rainy nights.
“People are advised not to oversleep, business people should employ watchmen,” he said.
The OCPD nonetheless mentioned that he was surprised by the incidents.
