A 60-year old woman has been found dead with visible head injuries in her house in Kaara village, Yatta sub-county this morning.
The deceased, Jane Kanampiu, is said to have been found dead at her house in what appears to be a murder.
Confirming the incident, Yatta OCPD Edward Kipsang said that they had received information of the death from members of the public who noticed the incident this morning at dawn and had rushed to the scene.
Mr Kipsang said that the incident indicated foul play since the injuries on her head showed to have been inflicted by a sharp object and no known motive has been established although some unconfirmed reports claims the lady to have been having a long-standing land feud with her relatives.
He also said that the door of her house had been locked from the inside and the window of the house was left open.
The police are still carrying out investigations on the incident.
The body is lying at Yatta level four hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem.
