Police in Kisii have issued a stern warning to teachers who may intend to storm into learning institutions during this striking period with an aim to disrupt learning activities.
This comes a week after a group of teachers stormed in both Kisii and Kereri Girls high school in Kisii town and whisked teachers who allegedly disobeyed the order by the Knut and Kuppet.
On Monday, Kisii central OCPD Solomon Kiragu warned teachers against disrupting learning in the institutions in which learning was normal, besides giving Knut and Kuppet Kisii branch to record a statement following the attack on two BOG teachers at Kisii School.
“Some public schools are ongoing with learning and the government will not allow anybody to storm to the institutions to disrupt peaceful learning," he said.
"Let those demonstrating avoid causing chaos in other institutions. The teachers unions (Kuppet and Knut0 Kisii branch officials have only a week to record a statement on the heinous act where two teachers from Kisii school were attacked by rioting teachers.”
Mr Kiragu further warned teachers against paralysing businesses in the CBD besides urging them to demonstrate at their respective union offices.
“There are so many activities going on in town and any attempt to paralyse them will face the law. When teachers feel like demonstrating, I think they should do that in their respective union offices,” he added.
The case against teachers who allegedly attacked BOM teachers at Kisii school failed to kick off at Kisii law courts with the police allegedly yet to serve Knut and Kuppet branches with court orders.
