A suspected cattle rustler was on Thursday night shot dead by police in Borabu as he planned to steal a cow.
Borabu OCPD Anthony Onyango said that the man and his two accomplices were planning to steal a cow from one homestead in Nderema village in Borabu Sub- County of Nyamira County.
"The man who police shot dead yesterday night at Nderema village was with two accomplices who were planning to invade somebody's compound and steal cows," said Onyango.
"The owner of the homestead had raised alarm something that forced the police to act in time and managed to kill one of them as his two accomplices escaped by foot," said Onyango.
He said police recovered two cows. He urged residents to help the police nub the suspects who escaped.
Cases of livestock theft have been on the rise in the recent past in Borabu Sub- County.
