Police in Borabu have been challenged to honour calls of area residents and help in curbing increasing incidents of insecurity at Nyandoche Ibere area.

This comes a day after at least five residents were robbed by armed gangs with four of them fighting for their lives at Bomet’s Tenwek hospital.

Speaking on Tuesday in the region when he paid a courtesy call to victims of the recent attacks, aspiring MP Dr. Nyandoro Kambi urged the government to consider deploying security officers for night patrols in the region to avert subsequent robbery cases.

“It’s quite unfortunate that we have people still robbing and committing all manner of crimes in this region. It is not worthy top do but I want to strongly call upon the government to deploy more security forces here to deal with the situation,” he said.

Nyandoro said citizens were overpaying taxes and expected equal returns in terms of security from the government by cracking whip on the law breakers.

“As Kenyans, we are paying for these services through the tax hence we cannot beg the government to do its job. We want perpetrators arrested and brought up to book,” he added.

He promised to give a reward of Sh50,000 to youths who were willing to return illegal firearms to government and help integrate them to the society.

“We are not denying that whoever doing that isn’t one of us but government should help us deal with them. I am ready as a philanthropist to give Sh50,000 cash to any of them willing to abandon the crime and get integrated ton the society and I think the government should offer amnesty to such individuals,” Nyandoro said.
