A flamboyant aspirant from Gesima Ward leadership has been accused by a section of the area residents for allegedly giving inflammatory sentiments over a certain clan which is said to be a minority.

Charles Mokaya, is accused of labelling Bogatutu clan in the ward as ‘weeds’ that were needed to be ‘uprooted’ to bring sanity in the region.

Speaking during a meeting on Saturday, the residents said they will pursue the matter to NCIC to ensure he is brought to book over the remarks besides calling for a court order to Barr his political activities.

“Mokaya uttered the remarks recently when attending a political function and he must take responsibility. He must be able to explain why he could incite residents against each other despite the harmony they have been living in. We will sue him in court to seek permission to ban him from any political activities,” said Makini Monyancha on behalf of the residents.

They called upon NCIC to employ its staff at the grass root level in a bid to monitor politicians as politicians start early campaigns ahead of 2017.

“The NCIC should have a staff at the grassroots level. This is where true hatred is preached and it might disintegrate the country,” he added.

However, Mokaya denied the allegation and said his statement was misquoted to make him look bad and vowed to give a spirited defence in court.

“I am completely disappointed with the accusations. All clans in this ward live as brothers and sisters. I come from Bokione clan and my mother is a Mogetutu clan member. It is impossible for me to do such a thing,” he said.
