Students training in polytechnics in the Gusii region are now relieved after their examinations board set up an examination centre in Bonchari Sub-county in Kisii County.

The trainees were in the past been forced to travel to Kisumu to take their examinations something is said to have been wasting a lot of the time they were supposed to be using for revision and which was also costly to their parents as they had to pay for accommodation during the whole of the examination period.

Speaking in Bonchari on Thursday, the manager of Kirwanda Youth Polytechnic James Kiyondi said that all the trainees in the county of Kisii will be taking their examinations from the institution noting that it was the only one that was allowed to be an examination centre.

“To the trainees in youth polytechnics in Kisii our polytechnic has now been allowed to be an examination centre and now no one has travel to Kisumu for examinations from our county because we will be offering examinations from grade 3, grade 2 and grade 1 in all courses,” he said.

He also called on parents and children who want undertake technical courses to register with the polytechnics so that they can be able to help themselves adding that it will also be a good place to prepare children for the future.
