Lari Deputy County Commissioner Benard Kinyua has asked public officers to provide prompt and unconditional services to the public to avoid complaints against inefficiency in government offices.
Kinyua said there was need to provide efficient services to wananchi seeking services in public offices and avoid delay that portrays a negative image of the government.
The deputy county boss who was addressing heads of department, chiefs and their assistants in his office on Monday said public officers are accountable to the citizens who pay taxes which are used to pay their salaries.
The deputy county commissioner said that government officers who do not meet the expectations of the public will be disciplined or dismissed adding that the public officers should render the services they were employed to do.
The administrator also expressed concern over the poor state of offices and facilities used by public officers in the sub-county and asked the heads of department to request for funding to improve their offices.
"I have previously toured the police residents and witnessed officers living in squalid condition," said Kinyua.
The administrator commended the police for their commitment in fighting crime and assured them that the government would strive to improve their working environment.
