An entertainment company director has told a Nakuru court that his ex-lover whom he met in Norway sent him an abusive text message, threatening to burn his house.
Renowned comedian Geoffrey Otina told senior principal magistrate Nyakundi Maroro that Richline Kasa, also known as Richline Atieno, a Kenyan citizen residing in Norway, sent him several abusive messages threatening to burn his house before his Nairobi home was set ablaze.
“I reported the matter to the Buruburu police station where I recorded a statement. She had been sending threatening messages before she burnt the house in Nairobi,” Otina testified.
The abusive and threatening text messages, as Otina told the court, were sent to him about his new girlfriend, Caroline Malatha. Malatha happens to be Atieno’s stepsister.
In January this year, Atieno was charged with sending Otina the threatening messages. The court heard that she committed the offence on January 5, at unknown place in Kenya. Atieno allegedly warned Otina of consequences if he failed to abandon an affair with his newly found lover.
According to Otina, he met Atieno in Norway and started a relationship, which later turned sour. He also testified that he was in an on-and-off relationship with Malatha.
Atieno, who had been barred from travelling back to Norway pending hearing and determination of the case, was also on Wednesday allowed to travel to the European country.
The court, while issuing the orders to the Immigration Department to allow Atieno to travel back to Norway, established that there is a baby sired by the Otina and Atieno. The two were advised to reconcile.
