Ruiru lawmaker Esther Gathogo has asked the Kiambu county government to fast-track repair and renovation of roads in the constituency.
Speaking when she inspected ongoing constructions in Mwihoko, Githurai on Monday, Gathogo lamented that poor roads in the constituency is slowing down development.
She observed that a section of roads in the constituency are in deplorable condition and need urgent repairs.
The Ruiru legislator said the county government has adequate funds which it should use to develop roads and other infrastructures.
“I want to appeal to the Kiambu government to move with speed and oversee repair of roads across Ruiru,” said the MP.
The lawmaker said that locals have complained over the poor state of roads noting that is the county’s responsibility to initiate road development.
The Ruiru lawmaker assured residents that she will push the Kiambu government to construct and refurbish all roads by the end of the year.
She said that with the expected El~Niño rains it will be important for the government to improve on roads and drainage systems.
