Thika Level Five health researchers have embarked on a survey aimed at coming up with data that will enable them improve service delivery in the region.

Speaking during a research scientific conference at the hospital on Thursday, the 12 researchers and health workers from Thika West Sub-County said the findings will help improve health services.

“It is imperative for us health workers to use our skills to demystify our technical knowledge to residents because it would inspire action against diseases that have turned chaotic to our people,” Agnes Wairimu, the team’s chair said.

She said the hospital had led the county in delivering quality health services that will be necessitated by effective planning.

The chair noted how the county leadership has helped the researchers in making health in the area a first priority by allocating funds.

“Health workers should use their knowledge for the benefit of the county residents. We should further translate the research findings into action as we aim at improving health services for our people,” she added.

John Karue, the secretary said the study aims to share knowledge and research findings so as to improve health service delivery for Kiambu residents.

“Lack of capacity building has been a major challenge facing the health sector and the county government should continue empowering the health personnel in research training,” he added.
