Following a study carried out by Ipsos Synovate stating that almost half the Members of Parliament would lose their seats if elections were held today, Kikuyu residents however applauded their MP and vowed to re elect him come 2017.
Mr Martin Kimani, a resident in Kikuyu said that the MP, Mr Kimani Ichug'wa has fulfilled most of his pledges to the residents.
He said that the MP has ensured that needy students get bursaries.
He said that if elections were held today, most parents in the area would re elect him for he cares for the less fortunate in the area and ensures they are in school.
Ms Scovia Waitherero, another resident said the MP kept his promise to the youth by ensuring that National Youth Service projects are launched in the area.
"The programme has really employed a large number of youths and still more youths are needed, this is what we need in a leader. I will re elect Ichung'wa come 2017," said Waitherero.
Mr Hosea Kinuthia, a shopkeeper, said that the roads were very dusty and muddy during rainy seasons hence affecting their businesses and Ichung'wa during campaigns had promised them to push for their rehabilitation.
He said that now, the road is good and for that reason, he would re-elect his MP.
Ms Dorothy Wanjira, a member of a development women's group in Ondiri said that Ichung'wa has been supportive to women and values their development projects. She said that he often visits women in their projects and supports them financially.
She revealed that the MP created a platform in which women and other residents can reach him in his office in Kikuyu town and address their issues.
