Bobasi MP and his CDF body have come under immense criticism by a section of students from institutions of higher learning accusing the entire system of CDF as a failure.
This is the first time the veteran MP Stephen Manoti is coming under immense scrutiny with the young leaners threatening to hold demonstrations to challenge his leadership.
Speaking on Saturday at the constituency, the students led by Alfred Ombongi said many students from various institutions had missed end semester exams with the CDF committee failing to give a satisfactory answer.
“It is quite unfortunate that our comrades can miss exams because some individuals in the office can deny what is rightfully theirs. This is a disorder and we have a medicine towards it. The leadership must explain this or else we unleash our wrath,” he said.
According to them, at least 50 students in the universities across the nation missed the annual 10,000hs from the kitty hence missing the crucial exams.
“That is the public money and the MP owes us an explanation. We will pursue justice and he will be soon cornered,” he added.
However, speaking at a separate function, Mr. Manoti admitted technicalities but blamed their official partner KCB for failing to disburse the money in time.
“I understand what had happened but it is important to investigate before you threaten us. It is the technicality from KCB and all was fixed although a bit late,” he said.
