Three people were on Thursday charged before a Kisumu law court over robbery with violence charges.

Martin Okello, Joshua Obongo and Patrick Kamano denied the charges before chief magistrate Esther Maina for the offence allegedly committed on September 13 this year in Otongolo area of Kisumu. 

The prosecution alleged that the three broke into the house of Monicah Akumu who resides in Otongolo area of Kisumu. 

They are alleged to have attacked Akumu and her two children, injuring them in the process. The three are said to have made away with property worth Sh150,000, which included a television, two mobile phones and three laptops. 

The matter was reported to the police after the complainant had sought medical assistance. 

Investigations into the matter were immediately launched which led to the arrest of the first accused who was nabbed trying to sell the laptop in Kisumu, the court heard. 

Okello, who was arrested on September 20, helped the police in conducting investigations that led to the arrest of the other two suspects. 

The three were remanded for two more weeks to enable the prosecution complete its investigation.
