Uasin Gishu county Commissioner Mr Abdi Hassan has warned police officers who collude with gangsters to commit crime saying that they will be arrested and prosecuted.
Speaking in his office on Friday, Abdi said that there has been an increase in cases where gangsters put on police uniforms.
"I suspect there is a scum where police hire their weapons such as guns and uniforms in exchange for some few coins for them to commit crime. If a person sees an officer with uniform knocking the door he or she will open the door with ease not knowing that they are criminals," he said.
He urged wananchi to stay vigilant and before opening a house for a police officer to conduct any search ensure that they are in possession of the police identification cards.
"I also give a stern warning to police officers who take ages to respond in case of an emergency that their days are numbered. I urge wananchi to report such officers and promise stern actions will be taken against them," he added.
