Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo has called on Ruiru residents to support the police, chiefs and the local administration in fighting the rising crimes in the area.
Speaking when inspecting the newly completed Membley Police Post which was funded by CDF on Thursday, the legislator said that the public must be involved in fighting crime.
She added that most of the criminals arrested in Ruiru have been residing among the public noting there is need to identify them before they strike.
The MP further lauded the area OCPD Isaac Thuranira who she said has changed the state of security in Ruiru and Juja. She said such officers should be rewarded as they are doing a good job.
Gathogo said that the Nyumba Kumi initiative should be embraced in the area to curb the crime. She called for police-public participation in the fight against insecurity saying that the area will be secure if the public gives their best to the police by giving them tips on incidences of insecurity.
She noted that police will occupy the station immediately.
