Nakuru deputy governor Joseph Ruto has called for patience as police investigate arson attack at Menengai West MCA's home.

Speaking on Wednesday after touring madam Lucy Kihumba's Ol Rongai home that was razed down by suspected arsonists early Tuesday morning, Ruto called for soberness when dealing with the matter saying that it was very unfortunate and sensitive.

"This is a matter involving life and everyone ought to be very keen when commenting on it because the family is still traumatised. Let's not speculate about anything," he said.

The deputy governor called on Rongai police to get to the bottom of the matter and ensure all the culprits are punished by the law.

He said: "As police launch their investigations, ours is to console the family and hope that the perpetrators will be apprehended."

The family lost property estimated to be over Sh50 million including their residential house and vehicle.

In a separate visit yesterday, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua assured the family that his government will offer the necessary material, moral and financial support to see them rebuild their lives afresh. He condemned the attack.
