The two governors said that they would work together to see that Chepilat township is better organised by ensuring permanent speed bumps are put in place to reduce road accidents in the area.

“We are in deep sorrow that we have lost seven people from last week’s accident and as Bomet county and Nyamira county governments we shall work together to ensure the people of Chepilat are safe because the people come first and we do not want to lose more lives in accidents,” said Ruto.

Borabu Member of Parliament Ben Momanyi who was also present at the fundraiser said that he would buy coffins for those who lost their lives in the accident.

A requiem mass will be held on Thursday before the bodies of the victims are taken to their homes for burial.

Momanyi said that the requiem mass will be attended by legislators from the Gusii region and the Rift Valley.
