Deputy governor Joseph Ruto has expressed confidence that the county under the leadership of Governor Kinuthia Mbugua is getting better by day.

Ruto could not hide his joy after the county emerged the winner from the South Rift region in the recently concluded Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) distinguished taxpayers awards 2015.

Speaking in his offices at the county headquarters, the deputy governor rooted for an all-inclusive system of government saying that it was important that everybody felt part of the system.

“The award is as a result of our endless efforts as the people of this great county, as your leaders; we appreciate your input in making our country the best,” he said.

He tasked all leaders to ensure that all unfinished projects in their areas are finalised as the first phase of a devolved system of government enters the final year.

“Let’s move as a block in matters of development because at the end of the day, our responsibility as leaders is to ensure we make the areas we represent better than we found them and that can only be achieved through initiating more development projects,” he advised.

He regretted the fact that some leaders were taking to the media to solve their political squabbles arguing that it was tainting the county’s image at the national and international front.

Nakuru County was feted during the awards ceremony as the best performer from the South Rift region and the fourth best among the best performing counties.
