Gusii Mwalimu Sacco members have been tipped on the importance of embracing good eating habits, to avoid developing diseases related to poor eating habits.
The Sacco CEO, Charles Omwansa has disclosed that the Sacco management uses education for members forums to educate them on good eating habits to lower risks of developing from lifestyle diseases.
Speaking in his office, Omwansa clarified that it was the Sacco management's duty to ensure its members embrace positive living standards to scale down the burden of treating lifestyle diseases associated with poor eating habits.
"Good eating habits makes one's health strong and resistant to various lifestyle diseases. Eating foods high in dietary fibre can help you live regular, lower your risk for heart disease, stroke and diabetes which are all associated with bad eating habits and lifestyles,"stated Omwansa.
Omwansa further observed that healthy living involves more than physical health, since it also includes emotional or mental health.
He also warned members against excessive consumption of alcohol as it is linked to liver related diseases which do not have a cure.
