Security has been enhanced in Kisii town and its environs as this year’s Kisii Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) show kicked off at the Gusii stadium early on Thursday.

According to the Kisii Central OCPD Tom Mutisya an additional 100 security officers drawn from the sub-counties have been deployed in the town to ensure security around the clock.

Mutisya assured all exhibitors and visitors of their security adding that all those entering the showground will be thoroughly screened.

“We have put adequate measures in place and security officers will patrol the show grounds and its environs 24 hours a day. We will make sure that every person attending the show is safe and all goes on smoothly” he added.

ASK branch manager, Bernard Ogega said about 100 local and foreign exhibitors would be participating in the show that is set to end on sunday 12 this month.

Ogega also called upon all the farmers in Kisii County to take advantage of the show to sharpen their skills in farming and also to learn about the latest trends to improve their productivity.
