Standard eight pupils in Sensi Ward, Kisii County will receive free geometrical sets ahead of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations.

Speaking on Friday at a funeral ceremony, Sensi MCA Nyagaka Ochong’a promised that all KCPE candidates in his ward are going to benefit from geometrical sets to use during the examinations as one way of motivating them to perform well in mathematics.

“I urge all standard eight pupils to do well in mathematics. I will give them all geometrical sets as I wish them well in their exam,” said Ochong’a.

The MCA challenged parents to become actively involved in their children's education rather than leaving the full responsibility to teachers.

“Let every parent embrace education. By giving education the first priority you make life easy for you and for your children,” he added.

Ochong’a urged Sensi Ward residents to cooperate with him in development and promised to deliver on more projects saying he was elected to do development for them.

Marani MCA Dennis Ombanchi who was at the same event echoed Nyagaka’s sentiments by stressing that basic education would succeed best when parents are actively involved.
