Flamingo Ward member of county assembly in Nakuru county on Monday came out to express his concerns over the recent brutal killings of commercial sex workers in the area.

Addressing the irate commercial sex workers who held a peaceful demonstration in Nakuru town, Moses Gichangi said that prostitutes like any other Kenyan is entitled to security and protection as per the constitution. 

"Be it a prostitute, a teacher or a farmer, the constitution of Kenya protects the right to life of every individual," said Gichangi. 

He called upon the police to stop moving around collecting bribes from sexual workers in Kanu street but rather protect and maintain their security. This comes after a series of killings of commercial sex workers in the area with the recent one found with private parts mutilated and her eyes gouged. 

Nakuru county commissioner Joshua Nkanatha has promised to beef up security in the area and have the incidents investigated.
