Livestock farmers in Nyaronge village, Nyamira County have a reason to smile after the area MCA announced a Sh200, 000 renovation exercise of a cattle dip that is expected to serve over 200 farmers from the region.

Speaking on Wednesday at Nyaronge SDA at a camp meeting, Ken Atuti said the exercise will commence immediately following years of neglect.

He urged farmers to take advantage of the cattle dip to practice livestock farming saying it has a readily available market not only in the country but also abroad.

“Livestock farming is important and I had to request the money from the county government for the renovation of our cattle dip. I would like to see many of the residents engage in livestock farming because it is very marketable even within our county. Let us take full advantage,” he said.

Atuti said the renovation will be done by area youths to empower them besides urging residents to ensure maximum maintenance of the facility.

“Our youths will be involved in renovating the cattle dip as a way of empowering them. I plead with all of you to take good care of the facility given the years we have taken to make it run for another time,” he said.
