A woman was on Thursday released on a cash bail of Sh50,000 after being arraigned in Mavoko law courts for allegedly being in possession of bhang.

Lilian Nduku was charged for being in possession of bhang contrary to section 3(1)(a) as read with 3(2)(a) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Control Act No. 4 of 1994.

The court heard that on August 19, 2015 at Sabaki area in Athi River sub-county, she was found in possession of Canabis Sativa which was not its medicinal preparation.

Nduku, who had been reprimanded at the Athi River police station before being arraigned in court, also faced a second count of selling alcoholic drinks without a liquor licence.

The case was heard before senior resident magistrate Edward Too, who said the accused be released on cash bail of Sh50,000 for both the charges.
