Shock and grief gripped residents of Ituramiro Village, Gatundu South after a boda boda rider was found killed and dumped along a road side.
John Kamau, 43, was found on Friday dumped along Munyu-ini -Ndarugo road and placed on top of his motor bike.
Narrating the incidence, Ms Mercy Wangari the wife to the deceased said that her husband was called at 11pm by unknown people who sought his assistance to ferry them to Kiamwangi Trading Centre.
“At 11pm, Kamau received a call to ferry two men to Kiamwangi Trading Centre but he didn't return. This morning we received news that he was killed and dumped along a road side,” said Wangari.
Residents who spoke to our reporter said that the deceased might have been killed somewhere else and his body dumped on the Munyu-ini -Ndarugo Road.
“There were treads of wheels of a vehicle meaning that the deceased might have been killed somewhere else and his body dumped by the road side,” said Jack Maina, a boda boda operator .
Confirming the incidence, Gatundu South OCPD Mr Bernard Muli said police have launched investigations to establish those behind the killing.
“Police have launched investigations to ascertain the cause of the death. Members of the public with information on the death should come forward and help us,” said Muli.
Muli urged boda boda operators to be cautious when ferrying unsuspecting people.
He also urged them not to extend their business to odd hours to avoid criminals targeting them .
The body was taken to Gatundu District Mortuary waiting post post-mortem.
