Kenya's Ambassador to the UN-Habitat Prof. Sam Ongeri has warned young people, especially students, against embracing terror activities, reminding them that it will cut short their life and future career dreams.
Prof. Ongeri challenged the youth to re-direct their energy and skills to building the country, to create more job opportunities for themselves and fellow young Kenyans instead of gambling with their lives through terror activities.
Speaking at Moi High School- Gesusu in Masaba South Sub-County during the school's education Day, Ongeri warned students against the culture of radicalism as it will ruin their lives and cost the country's brilliant future leaders and economic players.
"I am reminding these young people that embracing radicalism and terror activities will not take them anywhere, instead they should utilize their knowledge and skills to build this country into a progressive and successful industrialized economy to create more job opportunities for them and their fellow Kenyan youth,” observed Ongeri.
The Envoy challenged school children to report any suspicious terror activities to their school administrations for immediate action, to safeguard their lives and their institutions' property.
He tipped students on the importance of reporting suspicious characters in their midst to the relevant authorities, since it will not only be for their safety and security, but will also be to the benefit of their immediate communities and the country's security.
