Kisii County Commissioner Chege Mwangi has challenged Kenyans to ditch tribalism and promote unity.
According to him, living in unity promotes development in the education, agriculture and other sectors.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Gusii Stadium during the celebrations of Mashujaa Day, Mr Mwangi said tribalism stagnates development and there is need for Kenyans to fight it.
“If we continue tolerating tribalism then expect no development, no moving forward as a nation that can be respected in the world,” said Mr Mwangi.
He condemned people who depend on theft and warned them that their days are numbered.
"If caught stealing peoples' property legal action will be taken against you," he warned.
