South Mugirango MP Manson Oyongo has accused Kisii governor James Ongwae of incompetence and laxity by failing to tarmac county roads like his counterparts in other counties.
Speaking to the press on Thursday at Nyamarambe in his constituency, Oyongo told Ongwae to explain why he is not putting tarmac on the roads in the county if it was not misappropriation of funds by only repairing and murraming them.
He advised Ongwae to benchmark with his counterparts in other counties and learn how they are working for the people in their counties.
“We want our governor to tarmac roads and not murraming them. There is enough money for this. Let him copy paste examples of Alfred Mutua of Machakos County who despite getting less share in budgetary allocation he has done marvelous work in his county,” noted the MP.
On the other hand, he challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to fight corruption starting with those around him.
He said Kenyatta should give information of those people he said he knows behind the importation of sugar from outside Kenya.
