A month after students of Kenya Medical Training College in Nyamira went on rampage destroying property worth millions of shillings, the institutions management has convicted two students for allegedly masterminding the strike.

Speaking during the delivery of the verdict, college Deputy Principal Dr Pius Ouma said the two had been found guilty following substantial witness accounts from a section of the workers and fellow students.

He said the two; Peter Nyariki and Henry Kinyanjui had been notorious of inciting students on the social media despite persistent warning by the administration.

“We gave all the suspects fair hearing and the verdict is here with us. They were substantial information to link them with the mayhem because they were also vocal in the social media accounts to incite students and that wasn’t the first time,” he said.

However, the convicts despised the decision and vowed to challenge it in court besides blaming the management of autocracy.

“There is no fairness at all in this school. One cannot use the social media and a parameter to suspend students. We are very innocent and for a long time we have been calling for moderation whenever there is a crisis,” said Nyariki who is a second year Medical Laboratory student.

The institution went rampage and property worth millions of shillings were destroyed in the institution and its environs over what students called poor sanitation.
