Subukia Sub-County OCPD Alex Ng'ang'a has urged drivers to be cautious when on the roads to avoid causing road accidents.

Speaking on Tuesday at Tetu Location, Subukia Sub-County, Nakuru County during the funeral of two students who perished in road accidents last week along the Nakuru-Nyahururu Road, Ng'ang'a said that its shocking that reckless driving has been causing deaths to innocent people.

“It’s a pity to see innocent lives lost through road accidents,” said Ng'ang'a.

Ng'ang'a said that the Traffic Department would continue ensuring that drivers comply with traffic rules.

“Police officers will continue enhancing traffic rules to ensure no lives are lost,” said Ng'ang'a.

The two Kieni Secondary School students were walking along Nakuru-Nyahururu Road when a speeding lorry hit them from behind killing them on the spot.

Kabazi MCA Waithaka Mwangi condemned the incident saying that the accident had robbed the area of future leaders.

“The accident was painful as the two students were in their tender age and their contribution was needed for the nation's growth,” said Mwangi.

Mwangi demanded the arrest of the driver who escaped after the accident.

Police from Subukia Police Station have launched a manhunt for the driver who is at large.
