Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has cautioned politicians against politicising every project the government comes up with, saying that the move will hinder realisation of development.
Addressing residents at Cheptiret Trading Centre in Kapseret constituency on Tuesday, Sudi said that the move by some politicians, mostly from the opposition, to oppose every government project will deny Kenyans the opportunity to get services.
The MP said that while politicians have a role in keeping the government in check, they are not supposed to criticise the government.
He said that politicisation of development projects was a plot by some leaders to make the government look ineffective in the eyes of Kenyans.
The MP further asked politicians to base their politics on real issues facing Kenyans, and stop side shows that will not benefit citizens.
“Political leaders from the opposition should stop criticising the government and instead provide alternative suggestions on how to handle issues facing the country,” he said.
The MP intimated that the country may not realise its development agenda if politicians continue with their personal and selfish interests.
Sudi asked Kenyans to be wary of the leaders they have and make informed decisions on the ballot when the time comes.
Meanwhile, the Kapseret lawmaker has asked constituents to embrace peace and partner with him on development.
Sudi assured locals that he will fulfill the development promises he made, saying that he is working closely with the county and the national government on various development projects.
