Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has criticised Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto for what he termed his disrespect for Deputy President William Ruto.

"The Bomet Governor is playing dirty politics which if he does not take caution will finish him politically," Sudi said on Sunday. "He should respect the position held by William Ruto as the deputy president.

"Disrespecting the deputy president publicly as witnessed on Saturday during a funds drive in Bomet where he public threatened to stop the meeting to deny the deputy president a chance to speak to people was uncalled for."

Mr Sudi was speaking after a worship session at the Eldoret Sports Club.

He told governor Ruto to apologise to the deputy president for belittling him in public.

On Saturday, governor Ruto and the deputy president engaged in a verbal exchange during a fundraiser in aid of women organisations in Bomet.

Governor Ruto was the first to throw a salvo to the deputy president when he accused him of instructing area MPs to undermine his administration.

Ruto said the DP had ganged up with local MPs to undermine his leadership and paint him as a non-performer.

But the DP played down the accusations and said he had supported the governor's leadership.
