A woman was on Thursday denied bail by a Kikuyu court for being found in possession of illicit brew.
Violet Wambui, who was arrested on Wednesday night at Ondiri area in Kikuyu is said to have been supplying illicit alcohol to several parts of Kikuyu Sub-County.
She pleaded innocent before Chief Magistrate James Ogweno.
The prosecution told the court that the accused was arrested at around 9pm on Wednesday while selling the brew.
The court heard that during the arrest police recovered 72 drums used for brewing and 200 litres of illicit brew.
The prosecution added that the accused had evaded police for a long time while urging the court to deny her bail.
Wambui's lawyer, Francis Akombo said that the accused person is a mother and a business lady who needs time to be out.
He said that despite the accusations, the accused person was not guilty of the charges and urged the court to release her on bail to be with her children.
She was however denied bail with the hearing set for September 3.
