A section of teachers, parents, religious leaders and non-state actors have emphasized on the need to provide sex education to youths but targeting the right age.

Speaking on Monday at Langas Primary School in Eldoret during an open forum on Sexual Reproductive Health among Adolescents that was convened by Family Health Options Kenya, Sheikh Ali Mzee, an Imam at Langas mosque said offering sex education to youths of the wrong age could worsen the situation.

"Their is need for adolescents to be equipped with sex education that would enhance a wholistic growth and development among them while at the same time being sensitive to their ages," said Sheikh Ali.

The training comes in the wake of two shocking incidents in Eldoret and Kisumu where students were caught engaging in indecent activities.
