Thika Business District Association (TBDA) in partnership with sub-county community policing committee and security team is set to award their best security officers today as they mark the Mashujaa Day as a way of motivating the officers in their work.
Speaking on Monday in Thika town during a meeting to set security strategies that will be read to the public on Mashujaa Day by the security team, the TBDA secretary general Sam Chege said that the efforts to safeguard the Thika residents both day and night should be recognised.
He said that it is a life risking job that includes many challenges and that should be respected by everyone.
“These people don’t sleep and they are always making sure we are secure even when we are asleep. It’s good to recognise their efforts and reward them with the little we have,” he said during the meeting.
He added that the business association has set aside a certain amount of money that was not revealed to cater for the awards that will be presented tonight at Blue post hotel during the celebrations to award different Thika heroes.
Among the award are Governor of the year, senator, women rep, MCA, Police officers among other in the public.
Kiambu county TNA coordinator Gladys Chania will preside over the ceremony as she is also incorporated in the Thika security team as a peace ambassador.
