A senior teacher in Nyamira County was on Thursday arraigned in court and charged with sexually assaulting a minor at Bobembe village in Nyamira North Sub County.
Daniel Matara, a teacher at Bobembe Primary School is accused of committing the crime on July 3, 2015.
According to prosecutor Magdaline Soriot, the teacher defiled the minor in his house after luring her.
The minor who was present in court during the mentioning of the case is a class seven pupil.
She said the teacher lured her into his house and threatened to beat her if she tells anyone about the incident.
Senior Resident Magistrate Tranford Maati released the accused on a Sh90,000 bond after he pleaded not guilty.
The case will be heard on November 2, 2015.
