Incumbent Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire’s ambitions to defend his seat for the second term were met by big blow after his former allies defected to his perennial competitor Victor Ogeto’s camp.

On Tuesday, three former members of defunct Nyamira Municipality who were critical in election of Bosire to National Assembly in 2013 elections accused the incumbent of leading the constituents with dictatorship and discrimination.

According to them, they will traverse the entire Kitutu Masaba region in support of Ogeto whom they termed as ‘development oriented’ hence suitable for the seat.

“We are here today to let our constituents know that Bosire has failed us and therefore we want to tell him as a team that we have a man who is ready to work with all constituents without discrimination,” said Julius Nyachieo at Esani village during a fundraiser.

They promised to support Ogeto’s programs of education the needy and vulnerable in the constituency besides asking to lure more sitting MCAs to his camp.

“He has been supporting less advantaged and the vulnerable in the society even after losing in 2013. This is a unique characteristic and we therefore promise to lure MCAs who have since ditched Bosire’s camp to our side,” added Charles Mokaya.

Ogeto welcomed the three former leaders to his camp and asked them to be vigilant to ensure they carry the day in 2017.

“Now that the three of you have come, I am sure many more will join us. Let us work hard and ensure we take Kitutu Masaba to where it belongs,” he said.
