Police in Thika are investigating an incident where a man was found murdered in Rwera area, Gatundu on Thursday morning.
Area OCPD, Erastus Muthamia said that the deceased family had reported that the Benson Macharia Wanjama, was kidnapped on Wednesday before they retrieved his body in Gatundu.
He added that the deceased was a well known figure in Thika Town had a bullet wound on his left eye, a clear indication that the assailants shot him dead.
It is alleged that the man was handling land cases in Thika courts after he was accused of grabbing several pieces of land in the area and the family have confirmed the claims saying that he had been living in fear.
According to police sources, the deceased was headed home on Wednesday and on arrival at his gate a gang of unknown culprits attacked and abducted him and the neighbors who witnessed the incident informed the family and later they reported to the police.
“Some gunmen carjacked him as he entered his home in Ngoigwa Estate at around 9pm on Wednesday, bundled him into the boot of his car and drove off. We just retrieved his body after it was discovered by some residents in his car, which was abandoned in Rwera area, Gatundu,” the OCPD said.
