Chiefs in Thika have vowed to work together in fighting crime.

The local administrators also called on the residents to embrace the Nyumba Kumi initiative to fight crime.

Led by the Komo location chief Daniel Waiguru, the administrators speaking on Friday in Thika said they have been struggling with the police with no information on the criminals.

Chief Waiguru noted that if residents failed to embrace the initiative, it would be difficult to fight crime which he said had become rampant in his area and he needs support.

He challenged them to work with the security personnel and report suspicious persons or any known criminal assuring them that informers will always be kept confidential by the police.

However, the Thika DCC lauded a number of them for the continued efforts in fighting illegal beer.
