Police in Thika have intensified a manhunt for the murderers of one of the directors of the troubled Kihiu Mwiri Farmers Company Limited.
The director was shot on Sunday evening by two unidentified gunmen at Majengo area of Thika Sub-County.
Paul Kaharu Muhuhi is said to have been heading home after closing his shoe business at Thika Main Stage and stopped at Majengo area when two unknown people appeared and shot him four times and leaving him with serious injuries.
According to police sources, the gunmen escaped in a saloon car which is believed to have been awaiting them at a distance from where the deceased was shot.
They said that Muhuhi was rushed to Thika Level Five Hospital immediately but died while receiving treatment.
The deceased is believed to be the sixth to be murdered by the unknown people leaving other directors worried for their lives.
Allegedly, two of the directors have already reported to the police claiming their lives are in danger.
Thika DCIO Julius Sunkuli has confirmed that no culprit has been apprehended so far, but they have intensified investigations.
The land company has had several internal disputes and the government, through the Ministry of Lands was forced to intervene though no solution has been reached so far.
