Thika residents have been cautioned against negligence in reporting crimes and urged to work with the administration to fight against crimes in the society.
Speaking during the Trust fund disbursement in Thika on Monday, Thika OCS Robert Okinya said security officers in the area need assistance from residents so that to fight crimes which have been increasing at a higher pace.
Okinya said that it is s important for the members of the public to work hand in hand with the security personnel so that to make sure that they can curb the criminal activities in the area.
According to the officer, it is very difficult for the police to fight crime when the members of public are unwilling to support them in efforts to tame crime.
The officer was answering a question from MP Alice Ng’ang’a on what the police are doing to curb the crimes that are being reported daily in the area when he represented the OCPD in the meeting.
He revealed that they have set up security strategies to ensure they kick-start day and night raids with the help of the public as they have been raiding alone without knowing where the criminal dens are.
The OCS has said that the meetings held over the weekend in all the wards will help them intensify the security of Thika more easily.
