Police in Juja on Saturday arrested three people selling outlawed alcohol.

The three men were arrested after police were tipped that the men were selling alcoholic drinks banned by the Kenya Bureau of Standards.

Over 500 litres of outlawed beer was nabbed during the midday operation that attracted a large crowd in the outskirts of Juja town.

The three were arrested at Gachororo slum, a notorious place known for illicit brew business.

Juja OCPD David Kobe said the three will be arraigned in court on Monday.

He commended the residents for furnishing police with information that led to the arrest of the three.

"Please cooperate with the police and help us make Kiambu County alcohol free," Kobe said.

"Let us unite and fight against alcoholism together."

The arrest come two weeks after two people were arrested in the slum selling second generation alcohol.
